Is Cipher Siege free?
Yes. The game is free to play in any modern browser. Optional cosmetics can be bought with in-game gold, and rewarded ads can top up your gold.
Do I need an account?
No. You can jump straight into the Arcade, Battle Royale (guest lobbies) and bot castle sieges. Create a free account any time to keep your progress, play on any device, claim your own castle, and unlock the store, friends, Vanguards and the leaderboard.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Cipher Siege is built mobile-first and also plays great on desktop. No download needed.
What dictionary do you use?
All word puzzles accept words from the standard Scrabble dictionary (SOWPODS). Puzzles use words of 4 to 8 letters.
Am I playing against real people?
Battle Royale and friend duels are live. Lobbies are topped up with bots so matches start instantly, and rival bot castles keep the world active around the clock.
How do I level up?
Winning puzzles earns Infamy (XP). There are 100 levels, and each level-up lets you pick a permanent upgrade such as more passive gold or a new puzzle mode.
Can I lose my gold?
Only gold sitting in your castle chest can be pillaged by raiders, and only a percentage of it. Your main gold balance is safe.
